How about identifying a gate for swinging? How about enjoying it by yourself?
During outdoor play at the practicum site, I observed Mol strolling by herself while playing outside at the practicum location, seemingly in search of a playmate. However, she was unable to play with anyone. Two playgrounds were separated by a wooden gate. She climbed on it and began to swing by herself. She was able to connect with it and savor the moment. Several kids at random also wanted to accompany her, and they were all having a great time.
Mol: Teacher, Teacher looks I’m swinging
Pes: I too
Mol: No, this is mine
I’m most interested in her creative inquiry since she finds a method to engage by herself. She is also able to build relationships with the available resources. This Free Independent Play will help her develop her fine motor skills and build confidence in her.
